DescriptionHi, Paul...

I find I am in need of the imap module, and sure enough, I don't have it. :-)

Thanks!

to build this - i need to compile c-client - looks like this has a nightmarish build system - uggh

Uggh is right...

Sorry, Paul; I figured this was about the same as for 5.2. I may be able to find a workaround (this is for the TYPO3 stuff - ecomstationnews.com - the news system picks up incoming news items via email using a cron-scheduled mail pickup, which in turn relies on the PHP IMAP module).

Checking...

Good news: the Mail to tt_news extension can be configured for POP3 as well as IMAP. Unfortunately, the IMAP module is still needed for POP3 access. :-(

On the upside, Paul, we still have lots to do to get the news system working again, and this is at the end of the list. I'll keep looking for alternative methods in the meantime, in case c-client proves to be too much of a bear.

Thanks

Lewis

I had c-client built before - not sure what happened to the libraries I had <sigh> I'll get to it - just wasn't in the right headspace last night

Thanks, Paul.

Just tested the build from 06-27-2014 03:59 using POP3 with no encryption against Communigate Pro 5.2.18. Fetch worked. TYPO3 reported the following, but I believe this is unrelated (and deals more specifically with handling the content of the email; out of 90 messages, I only saw this warning for about a dozen):

PHP Warning: mb_convert_encoding(): Illegal character encoding specified in <fullpathto>\typo3conf\ext\mail2news\class.tx_mail2news_imap.php line 166

Likely a TYPO3 issue with the extension, but possibly something with HTML-ENTITIES (the handling of which has changed between PHP versions, and the TYPO3 extension may not be properly coded for that).

I'll test IMAP and will open any additional tickets, as required. Right now, though, we should close this as resolved, because we do indeed seem to have a working imap module!

Thanks again!!
