Summary | 0000290: "Filter "foomatic-rip" for printer "HP2550" not available: No such file or directory"
Description | I am using the PPD files from http://www.linuxprinting.org for both the HP 2550 and Lexmark E312. I am getting the same message on both. Should I be getting the PPD files from another source?

foomatic is a set of perl filters to convert postscript into a printer's native format. I haven't attempted to test/configure this yet. It requires a working perl + the foomatic stuff from http://sourceforge.net/projects/foomatic/ |
|
Which PPD files should I use? I can find them for MAC, Linux, Sun, Windows 98, Windows XP, etc. |
|
The ones that are 'guaranteed' to work are the ones included in Gutenprint. Any other ppd files are most likely going to depend on external filters (ie foomatic) to work. Note that foomatic is on the list of things to investigate at some point. |

foomatic-rip.exe is included in http://smedley.info/foo2qpdl-os2-20100628.zip |
